KATB is the leading employer of young people in Morgan County! While youth from wealthier families can accept unpaid workplace experiences, most of KATB’s young people urgently need paid work to save for college and to help out at home. In 2022, we employed a record 65 summer staff, providing on-the-job preparation for a career in any sector.

We cannot overstate the value to their future employers of what our kids come away with: beyond the technical and practical skills of summer employment, they quickly learn the “soft skills” of what being an employee is all about. Our kids understand that they must show up on time, not just once, but every day, because other people depend on them.
​
In addition to summer employment with KATB, we introduce young leaders to job shadowing, internships, and apprenticeships with nonprofit, government and business partners.
